Critically acclaimed author of Annie John, A Small Place, My Brother, and Mr. Potter, Jamaica Kincaid will read selections from her latest book Among Flowers: A Walk in the Himalaya.
Location: Sterling Memorial Library Lecture Hall followed by a reception from 6:00 - 7:00 pm with refreshments in the Memorabilia Room

Co-sponsored by African American Studies, African American Cultural Center, Agrarian Studies, American Studies, Beinecke Library, Calhoun College Master's Office, Council on Latin American and Iberian Studies, English, Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity, the Sterling Memorial Library, Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies and the Whitney Humanities Center Working Group on Nationalisms and Empires.

"William C. Bullitt, Jr., and Louise Bryant:  New Insights"
The symposium on Louise Bryant and William C. Bullitt, Jr., will celebrate the opening of their papers deposited by their daughter, Anne Moen Bullitt.  The invited speakers will talk about the significance of Bryant's papers, which have not been available to any of her biographers; Bullitt's diplomatic career in shaping American foreign policy; and a discussion of both sets of papers by the archivist who arranged and described them.
