Document Delivery Coordinating Committee
Minutes, October 17, 2001
Present: Barbara Amato, Martha Clark, Suzanne Eggleston Lovejoy, Denise Hersey (Chair), Carol Jones, Maureen Jones, Mary Angelotti, Susan Burdick, Jennifer Kostelnik, Wes Most
- Announcements: Carol handed out the Annual SHARES Agreement. Members need to decide if the agreement is acceptable to them and then get back to Carol. Denise will soon be meeting with Holly regarding the analysis of the user survey data.
- OCLC on the Web: Carol is getting information from Nelinet regarding how OCLC’s new web version interacts with CLIO. The group is also interested in whether or not this new version will cost more than PRISM OCLC. It was also noted that if all Yale libraries have access to OCLC borrowing, there will need to be some resolution on a policy regarding who will pay OCLC charges (patrons or the library).
- Pigasus Update: Debbie McGraw is attempting to investigate what is happening with the Autographics/Pigasus relationship.
- Investigation of a new ILL Management System: Maureen and Jennifer will be researching RLG Manager. Denise and Susan are investigating Illiad. Carol is looking into what the Endeavor ILL module is capable of. We need to have a new recommendation to Danuta by the end of October. Wes reminded us to consider a number of questions as we do our research on these system:
- Is the product compatible with Windows 2000?
- Can the product work with Docline and EFTS?
- What kind of patron authentication is used? Can we customize this piece or would we need to contract out to the company if we wanted changes?
The group will be meeting on Wed., October 24 to review our findings and then, again, on Mon., October 29 to decide on a recommendation for Danuta.
- Future Topics:
- Interlibrary Loan privileges (visiting scholars, alums, out of town patrons, etc.)
- ILL training
- Bringing service quality issues to our supervisors and colleagues
