Staffing Issues Group
Minutes, June 6, 2000

Present: Sandy Peterson, Charlie Greenberg, Maureen Heher, Cesar Rodriguez, Diane Turner, Marybeth Bean

I. Problem Patron Policy:

Reviewed the latest version, which includes suggested changes from Danuta. This policy is scheduled for discussion at the 6/14/00 SQIC meeting.

II. Reviewed meeting schedule for summer. Group will meet on the following dates during summer:

June 27, 3:30
July 18, 3:30 (Maureen's last meeting)
August 15, 3:30

III. Discussion then turned to what tasks we wanted to next undertake. After discussion the group decided that we need general principles and policies relating to communication skills for public service staff and/or staff members interactions with colleagues. Communication skills include those on telephone, email, and in person.

Group will do research to identify sample policies, manuals, etc. from other organizations and institutions for our next meeting.
