I. ABUSIVE PATRONS
Sandy intends to examine the Yale Student Handbook for Abuse policies. She
will determine if the handbook is online.
A Volunteer is needed to edit Scott's comments into a proposed policy. What
happens if a staff member is the abuser? We agreed that Diane should bring
her perspective to us on this issue. Sandy will approach Diane about this
issue.
Marybeth related that she had heard of an abuse situation that occurred on
the Medical Campus, as well as general feelings that the management response
to the situation was inadequate.
II. STAFF AWARDS
Sandy shared documents taken from the Duke U. Libraries WWW
site (http://www.lib.duk.edu/staff/recog/bonapp.htm), which included
a recognition team, a "Florance Blakely Award" for an outstanding individual,
and an "exceptional" team award.
Work was begun on the nomination process. Some proposals:

A proposal was made for a 5-member recognition team to serve as the selection
body:
1 Senior Librarian, 1 Junior Librarian, 1 Supervisor/Manager, 2 Clerical
& Technical
A term would be for two years, although some of the initial appointees would
only serve for one year and allow a pattern of some change every year to
develop. More discussion is needed to develop the actual selection or
volunteer solicitation.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, June 22, 3:30pm
