Minutes for the Meeting of April 2, 2002
Present: Arakawa, Bouché (Chair, recording), Nellhaus, Swanekamp
Absent: Crockford-Peters, Richie, Sprague
1. The minutes from the meetings of March 12 (Sprague) and March 19
(Arakawa) were approved. Minutes of January 29 (Crockford-Peters) still
pending
2. NLB reported that she has not yet heard back from Alan Solomon about
the Missing/Lost document, which was forwarded to him for SQIC's consideration.
She also referred the question of which YUL webpage template from the
Reference Services pages should be used for the proposed "help
page" to RSC, by way of Tobin. RSC can decide which template is
to be used, and if the BAG proposal on the Lost/Missing procedures document
is adopted, the page can be finalized.
3. Kerberized Telnet (con't) - NLB reported that she is still waiting
to hear back from Fred Martz before moving to implementation, and will
follow up with Richard Crane asap to get some of the set up underway.
4. OPAC Implementation (con't)
Steven A. pointed out that the MARC 511 first indicator 1 isn't displaying
in the YALEDB Voyager database. The problem will be reported to the
OPAC Implementation Group. The 511 1 should prompt a label of "CAST."
(511 0 should have the label Performers.) NLB will report the problem
to the OPAC Implementation Group.
The group then reviewed the OPAC Implementation Group's Draft Search
Indexes document. With minor exceptions, the document as presented was
accepted, up to the Call Number search. The group will resume reviewing
the document, starting with the Call Number index, next week, and complete
its review at that time. Meanwhile, comments of the sections reviewed
will be forwarded to the OPAC Implementation Group.
NEXT MEETING: April 9, 2002
Recorder: Sue Crockford-Peters
Respectfully submitted,
Nicole Bouché
