Meeting Minutes for 02/20/02
Attending: Barbara Amato, Susan Burdick, Denise Hersey, Carol Jones,
Jennifer Kostelnik
Absent: Maureen Jones, Martha Clark, Mary Mary Angelotti
I. Announcements- Jennifer will be leaving Yale in June.
II. Illiad- Wes has recommended that we use a Windows 2000 server
for Illiad so we are just waiting for that. The group agreed that we
should start using Illiad first for borrowing since it will allow us
to make the biggest visible impact right away (for patrons). We hope
to start training in March. Denise recommended training during Spring
Break so that staff who often work evening shifts will be available
during the day.
III. EDD- we can use the server that had been meant for Pigasus.
We are just waiting for Wes to configure it so that we can begin offering
EDD via the new Ariel version.
IV. Item type- Susan Burdick explained how Voyager would handle
lending with ILL pseudo patrons and which patron categories we may be
using for borrowing.
V. Invoices- Carol discussed "happening locations" in Voyager
and asked who would need a special one created so that ILL units could
pay invoices. It appeared that only SML ILL would need a specific one.
VI. Policies- We finished reviewing Jennifer's list of policy
questions. Carol noted our responses and will write them up.
VII. Damaged Materials- Carol handed out proposed instructions
on what to do when ILL materials which we have loaned out are returned
damaged. She and Denise had recently revised them. We did not have time
to review them today so we will take up this issue at a future meeting.
WE did note that there was a dispute between some departments regarding
where fine money for these damaged materials should be deposited.
