Document Delivery Coordinating Committee
Minutes for Meeting on 1/9/02
I. SFX and document delivery- Matt Wilcox discussed the new
SFX option within our databases and how document delivery can benefit
from it. D2C2 wanted to know if SFX would work with Illiad. We will
have to check on that. Matt also explained that the document delivery
option would not appear in SFX box if the full text of the article was
available.
A subcommittee of D2C2 will attempt to create one form which can be
used by most of our ILL units which will be used with SFX. We will get
it to Matt asap.
II. Voyager OPAC- Denise asked the group how Borrow Direct and
ILL should be represented from the new OPAC. We decided that it would
be best to have one button on the OPAC search page with Borrow Direct/ILL
which, when clicked, would take the patron to an intervening page with
a description of and link to each service.
III. Voyager happening locations- Susan Burdick, who is a member
of the Circulation Implementation Group for Orbis2, asked if we thought
there should be a separate circulating location for ILL. The group decided
that this would not be necessary since circulation of ILL books takes
place at the various circulation desks.
IV. Ariel- Mudd and Kline are the only two libraries still waiting
for the new version of Ariel to be installed on their computers. Once
this is done, Wes will set up a new server for EDD. We need to wait
until Kline has the new version, however.
V. General ILL policies- Jennifer sent us all al list of policies
she would like the group to discuss in an attempt to perhaps standardize
them when possible. W will begin reviewing these at a future meeting.
