Meeting minutes for 05/15/02
Present: Carol Jones, Denise Hersey(Chair), Susan Burdick, Martha Clark,
Jennifer Kostelnik, Mary Angelotti, Barbara Amato, Maureen Jones
I. Illiad- Marybeth Bean, Circulation Manager for the Kline Science
Library, joined us to voice her opinion on whether we should circulate
ILL materials using Voyager or Illiad. She felt that since not all units
could reasonably circulate items using Illiad, that we should all be
consistent and circulate items through Voyager. She felt, and we all
agreed, that it would make the most sense to patrons if there we followed
a consistent methodology. We did not make any decisions at this meeting
regarding how we will check out materials, but we appreciated Marybeth's
comments and they will definitely be considered when we make our final
decision.
II. Mudd Update- Denise announced that, due to interim workflow procedures,
staff at Mudd are only supplying ILL items in instances when they are
the only lenders or are the last lenders in a string. This will only
be occurring for one week until the Catalog Management team decides
who will be updating the edited Mudd records in Voyager when the cataloging
module goes live in early June.
Susan Burdick also announced that the Divinity Library may be able to
continue providing ILL service while their stacks are being moved to
their permanent location this summer.
III. eDD- eDD will go live on June 1st. The password will need to be
changed periodically but we do not foresee any problems in the meantime.
IV. Illiad- The logon screen which we edited is not being updated by
Systems staff. We finished editing the automatic email messages and
changed the number of "active requests" in the system from
200 to 75. At our next meeting we will review the Illiad request forms.
