- Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (Books)
- (DCRM(B))
- Rules designed to provide instructions for cataloging printed books,
pamphlets, and single-sheet publications of any age or type of
production whose rarity, value, or interest make special description
necessary or desirable.
- NOTE: DCRM(B) is based on AACR2 rules and should be not be thought of as
a replacement for AACR2, but rather as more detailed guidelines to guide
the cataloger far more strictly.

- produces more faithful transcriptions and more accurate physical
