Scope
Vinyl sound recordings  The general cataloging policies for monographs are followed.

Marking
The following guidelines are used when marking vinyl sound recordings.

  2. The Hollinger boxes have "Fragile" labels affixed.

Classification
Vinyl records are classed in the serial section of the year/number call number scheme. One serial number is assigned for 7 inch records and another serial number is assigned for 12 inch records. The 3rd line of each call number is the next consecutive number.

Accompanying material
If material accompanying a vinyl record cannot be housed with the record, class that material separately.
