CDC Digital Collections TF

At this meeting we discussed the recommendations and what kind of product we should create from our meetings. We looked at several “Selecting Material for Digital Collections” type documents and decided that we could rewrite them, adding Yale specific material, and incorporating the strategic goals of the library into this document. We should also include some discussion of ways digital collections add value based on our findings, and some of the technologies that can be used to that end. We may also create a kind of flowchart of how a digital project can progress here that can be updated and include links to documents from other groups in the future. The document we’ll be working from is the Columbia document:

We also discussed recommendations. We decided it certainly wouldn’t hurt to make recommendations to the Integrated Access Council, once it is formed.

We also briefly discussed upcoming guests and how best to focus our discussions. One new idea was to ask Danuta to come and talk about the ELI project.
