According to the media proposal approved by LMC, each library may determine it's own service policies. Strictly speaking, then, the SML/CCL Media Proposal Implementation Support Team is not a CDC committee; it is sponsorred by AULs Ann Okerson, Danuta Nitecki, and Meg Bellinger. However because there are many technical issues that need to be standardized across the library system, the work of this team is of interest to many libraries and has liaisons with the two other libraries implementing the media proposal during FY2004.
Under the sponsorship of the AULs for Collection Development, Public Services, and Integrated Library Systems & Technical Services, the SML/CCL Media Proposal Implementation Support Team is charged with planning and assisting the implementation of the CDC Media Task Force proposal (approved by LMC), by performing the following activities:
In performing these tasks, it will be essential for the team's members to discuss the team's ideas with their department head and colleagues on a regular basis, and to bring any comments and suggestions to the rest of the team for discussion.
Plans must receive final approval from the department heads, who will also be responsible for implementing the plans; unresolved matters may be referred to the AULs for decision.
In order to facilitate system-wide implementation and exchange of ideas, representatives
from the school and departmental libraries were invited to attend as non-voting
liaisons.
