In preparation for the forum on 1/8/01 in the SML Lecture Hall at 1:30 p.m., please download and printoff the simplified Excel spreadsheet of interfaces and their features.
Bring it with you to the forum, with preliminary pencilled in gradings for each feature and interface you are familiar with (1=bad; 5=good; 0=feature not offered). During the forum, feel free to tweak your gradings as the discussion progresses. Hand in your gradings at the end.
For those who want to explore and compare in depth, the spreadsheet (at the bottom) provides trial access information for each interface. In these trials, we made an effort to ensure at least 3 (usually 4) databases were available in each interface:
ATLA Religion Index (in all but Cambridge Scientific)
Medline
PsycINFO 1887-Current
Sociological Abstracts
Other databases may be present as well in the trials, but you can be sure of the presence of 3 databases for comparative purposes.
See you at the forum, and inquire of Kim if you need help with getting the spreadsheet. Copies will be available at the forum if need be.
