CD Server Working Group
Officially disbanded at end of task - January 1998

Charge:

To determine:

  • What would be the purpose of a CD-ROM server.
  • What would be expected from the server.
  • What problems such a server would solve.
  • Which CD-ROMs could be purchased in another format and which could be networked.
  • What other possibilities exist to better meet expectations.
  • Is it cost effective to set up a CD-ROM server considering the time necessary to mount and maintain it?
  • How will a CD-ROM server affect licensing agreements?
