| News Sources
Working Group
Charge:
- Look at current overlaps of general news resources in the Yale Library
and determine if justification exists for such overlaps or if overlap could
be reduced.
- Consider issues of equity in the selection of general news resources and
their funding. In particular, is the current method of relying primarily
on RSC and SSLIS an effective and appropriate use of Library resources.
- Consider if some (or all?) general news resources should be candidates
for central rather than departmental funding.
- Propose a method of evaluating general news resources, particularly those
currently received in the Library, to determine if they best meet the needs
of Library users.
- Determine if access to free general news resources might be publicized
more effectively, resulting in lower demand for expensive purchased access.
