The exhibit will be in the exhibit corridor in SML, so each collection will only have a small space. Installation during the week of May 17, with the exact date TBD according to participant's schedules.  Jae will be making the labels for the exhibit.  There will be one placard per collection, not individual item labels.  Have label text to Jae as text or MS Word attachment by May 10.  She will be available to consult with any one who has questions about the selection and/or mounting of materials.  Contact Jae by Friday, April 23, 5pm if your collection plans to participate.

Title: Ebb and Flow: The Migration of Collections to Yale
based on the RBMS Pre-conference Ebb and Flow: The Migration of Collection to American Libraries to be held on June 21-24
http://beinecke.library.yale.edu/rbms2004/

Purpose: To showcase Yale Special Collections that support the conference theme.  From the web site: "the pre-conference will focus on the history and current issues surrounding the movement of collections from the four corners of the earth into American repositories."  [Read: focus on non-American stuff]

Feedback on Fair:

1) The Beinecke security staff did not keep a complete “body count” for the afternoon so we do not know the exact Fair attendance.  They estimated 200+.  Our sense was that fewer attended this Fair than the last one, but it was a reasonable success

2) Fall may be a better time for the Fair than Spring.

3) Should feature more specific items in pre-Fair publicity

4) We would like to attract more students. May be worth taking out a ad or trying to get an article in Daily News.

Licensing out Yale document

Document does not apply to British Art Center, Oral History American Music, Walpole, Beinecke.  Might be better to state at beginning the libraries to which it does apply.

Next meeting: Tuesday, May 11, 2004, 11:00 am. in SML 409
