Special Collections Committee meeting of October 5, 2000


Present: Elisabeth Fairman, Toby Appel, Jae Williams, David Walls, George Miles, Richard Boursy, Richard Warren, Martha Smalley.

--We discussed special collections to be added to the web site list.
Geology Library will be added.
Elisabeth is checking on Elizabeth Club.

--We decided to add links for some out-of-print book dealers to the Staff Information page.
Elisabeth will provide URLs.

--We came up with the following list of FAQs and assigned the drafting of answers as follows. Drafts of answers should be submitted to Martha by the end of this week and she will send out the whole list to committee members for perusal prior to our next meeting.

7. How can I get a copy or reproduction of something? [Toby]

8. I'm interested in donating materials to a special collection at Yale. Whom should I contact? [Richard B.]

9. I would like to recommend something for purchase by a Yale special collection. Whom should I contact? [Richard B.]

10. Can Yale librarians and curators tell me what my books (or manuscripts, photos, etc.) are worth? [George]
