Plans for Special Collections Fair of October 26: 12-4 p.m. on Beinecke
mezzanine:
1. Door prizes will be provided by YCBA, Art Gallery, AOB, Walpole,
Divinity, MSSA, Preservation, Music. David will track down tickets to be
used for raffle. Door prizes will be advertised in forthcoming email
announcements of Fair, but no big deal made about drawings at the Fair.
Notification re. winning a prize to be sent by email or phone2. There also will be a table set up for giveaways.
3. 22 tables will be set up by Beinecke staff according to plan provided
by David. Beinecke will provide tablecloths.4. Maggie will email us re. set-up time, use of elevator and tunnel.
5. Ulla's student will make tents for the tables with repository names &
posters re. the Fair6. Richard B. will finalize arrangements for the brochure. He will make
the final text available for our perusal. The number of copies made will
depend somewhat on the price - up to 1,000 if price is not significantly
different, but 700 would be enough for Fair participants. Richard will
arrange for distribution of brochures to outlying libraries that may want
to use them for advertising the Fair. We will look into producing a
longterm brochure re. Special Collections at Yale in the future.
New Staff Orientation Session of Nov. 6: 10-12, SML Lecture Hall
1. Martha will give introductory overview.
2. Jae and Tom will provide tours of their collections.

1. AOB will be next "Featured Collection" - to be mounted ASAP (Jae)
2. Toby will be asked to make Historical Medical the Feature Collection
for Spring 2002.
