Special Collections Subcommittee meeting
December 14, 2004

Our scheduled guest, Lloyd Ackert, new Humanities Special Collections Fellow, was unable to attend due to a family emergency. He will join us next month.

Announcements:

• The information we compiled for the History Senior Essay program has been posted at http://www.yale.edu/history/resources/senior-essay-collections.html and will be included in the PDF handbook when it is revised next Spring.
• Susan Brady talked with Jae Rossman re. the Special Collections exhibit & will help coordinate it. We can schedule a workshop re. mounting materials. The dates of the exhibit in the SML corridor are May 1 - July 22, 2005.
• There hasn’t been much action on the Mellon Collections Collaborative grant because the Provost’s office hasn’t appointed an Advisory Board yet.

Ann Okerson told us a bit more about the Teagle Foundation $100,000 grant related to the use of primary sources in teaching and learning in a consortium of liberal arts colleges. A half-time staff member will be hired to coordinate the project.
