YALE UNIVERSITY GEOSPATIAL NEWS

ArcView Installation:

Installation disks of both versions of ArcView (3.x and 9.x) can be checked out from the GIS Service at the Map Collection- the stipulation is that the software can only be loaded on Yale-owned computers.

ESRI (Environmental Systems Resources Institute) produces a wide range of GIS products. Yale University holds an unlimited site license for ArcInfo and every product below it. This includes ArcGIS at the ArcEditor and ArcView level, ArcView 3x, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, and most of the ArcView/ArcGIS extensions (Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Network Analyst, Image Analysis, Geostatistical Analyst, ArcPress, MrSid Encoder up to 50 MB, and StreetMap USA).

The floating license version (ArcInfo) of the installation software can be downloaded from www.yale.edu/software. For ArcInfo, a license is needed to run the software. Yale ITS has a server with a license manager and license file for this purpose. Contact the GIS Specialist at the Yale Map Collection for futher information on connecting to the license server to run the software.
