The landscape-painter Joseph Farington records the occasion upon which George Dance made his drawing: Saturday July 13 [1793]. Went early this morning in company with Mr George Dance, the architect, and Mr Samuel Lysons of the Temple, to Lord Orford's at Strawberry Hill, a drawing from his Lordship's profile, an excellent resemblance. Lord Orford is now in his 76th year, infirm in his body, but lively and attentive in mind.
