This is one of ten views of the exterior of Strawberry Hill by Marlow that were engraved by Richard Bernard Godfrey for the 1784 edition of the Description of Strawberry Hill. Marlow became a resident of Twickenham in 1788 when he acquired the house of the artist Samuel Scott, his former teacher and Walpole's neighbor.
