Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Construction/ Renovation Consulting
During construction and renovation projects, it is important to protect collections from dust and debris. Working with Facilities staff and outside facility consultants, Preservation Services consults with librarians and curators to ensure collections are not exposed to construction dust and debris.
It is also critical to ensure that HVAC systems work properly to control temperature and relative humidity. Preservation Services acts as a liaison between facilities operations and libraries to ensure that HVAC systems are functioning accurately in order to preserve library collections.
If a construction or renovation project is planned for your department or unit, or you need assistance with the functionality of your HVAC systems, please contact the Preservation Services Librarian, Tara Kennedy.
