Fines:
All library cardholders are assessed fines for various reasons. With the exception of faculty, fines are generally assessed at $.50/day an item is overdue from its stated due date. Other fines include:
- $2.00 per day for overdue books that have been recalled.
- $2.00 per day for 3-day reserves.
- $3.00 per hour for reserve 2-hour and 24-hour reserve books.
The receipts placed in the book at the time it is borrowed is the library's official notice that the book will be due on that date, unless it is called back ("Recall") earlier for another reader. The borrower is responsible for the return or renewal of the book on or before the due date.
Loan Periods and Blocked Accounts
The table below describes the most common loan periods. Accounts also have restrictions as to the maximum combined number of item checked out, placed requests and recalled. Finally, accounts will be automatically blocked when either a)a recalled item becomes overdue, or b)the total accrued fines reaches its maximum per the table below. If your account is blocked for any reason, please contact the Privileges Office for assistance.
