Training and Organizational Development Committee
Reports to:
Associate University Librarian for Human Resources, Staff Training and Security.
Mission:
To develop a work environment that supports workplace learning and improves
individual and organizational performance. To foster and oversee staff training
and organizational development programs and activities throughout the library
for all library staff and student employees.
Frequency of Meetings:
Every third week, with regular sub-committee meetings between regularly scheduled
full committee meetings.

Sub-Committees:
Operation of the Staff Center for Multimedia Learning (SCML);
STOD offers "How to Use the SCML Effectively" for library staff members who
will train in the classroom; Each
One Teach One data base subcommittee is developing a language and directory
of skills data base to match library staff seeking assistance with language
and other skills with others who are willing to provide informal assistance;
the Lyte Bytes subcommittee develops short courses to improve work effectiveness
(technical and non-technical areas) for library staff; the Staff Resource Library
subcommittee develops and maintains the Staff
Resource Library.
Principal Areas of Activity:
Library staff training & organizational development.
Comments:
Sub-committees report progress on initiatives to the larger committee for further
evaluation and feedback. The STOD Committee engages in joint planning activities
with other library committees. Projects are developed based upon the presenting
interests and skills of the committee members as well as identified library
staff needs.
The committee acts in an advisory capacity to the Library Staff Training & Organizational
Development Officer.
