Dr. Elizabeth Beaudin, Manager of International Digital Special Projects -- Yale University Library

Elizabeth A. S. Beaudin received her Ph.D. from Yale University, writing her thesis on medieval love narratives from Muslim Spain. She has taught language and literature courses at Fairfield University and Yale. Dr. Beaudin is also a systems architect with 20 years of information technology experience, during which time she has developed both academic and administrative systems in a university environment. Her academic background helps balance the demands of technical architecture design with the scholar’s needs for useable content. Dr. Beaudin's work on the recent OACIS project included developing the software, interface, and technical communications for a new electronic union catalog.

Beaudin is project manager for two granted projects at Yale University Library -- Project AMEEL and Iraq ReCollection -- that will create a scalable digital repository on the Middle East. Dr. Beaudin is currently Manager of International Digital Special Projects, Yale University.


Eng. Rami Rouchdi, Head of Digital Lab Unit, ISIS -- Bibliotheca Alexandrina

Rami Rouchdi

Rami Khalil Rouchdi had been the head of the Digital Lab unit at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina since 2005. His position puts him in charge of working on the digitizing policies and standards at the BA, identifying the workflow system requirements, as well as identifying the quality aspects of digitization and how to deal with Quality Assurance. Mr. Rouchdi and the Digital Lab have been very successful in their output, having dealt with all sorts of projects, such as DAR, Million Books, AMEEL, OACIS, and many other projects that covered both Arabic and Latin based texts.

Mr. Rouchdi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, and has been part of the BA’s staff since its inauguration in 2002.




Eng. Mohammed Fathi Abo Ouda, ICT -- Bibliotheca Alexandrina

Abu Ouda

Mohammed Fathi Abo Ouda is a software engineer in the ICT sector of Bibliotheca Alexandrina. His job description covers the development and maintenance of several projects for the sector, through which he has contributed to the technological advancement of the establishment. His most significant contribution is his work as a developer for the Digital Assets Factory (DAFv2), a desktop application that maintains the digitization workflow of library assets.

Mr. Abo Ouda holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Automatic Control, and has worked at the BA since his graduation in 2005.


Eng. Michel Fayez Youhanna, ICT -- Bibliotheca Alexandrina

Michel Fayez

Michel Fayez Youhanna is a software engineer and a team leader in the ICT sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. His work deals with system developments and he has contributed to the BA’s digital repository by the development of phases dealing with OCRing, encoding, publishing and online storage archiving. He has built the Online Storage Backend for the BA so that it is available for many of the establishment’s related projects.

Mr. Youhanna holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Automatic Control, and has worked at the BA since 2006.
