Sterling Memorial Library Lecture Hall <directions>
FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
3:30 pm Lecture

4 pm Hands-On Session
with books from Flying Fish Press

At 3:30 pm hear Julie Chen talk about her latest bookwork, "Personal Paradigms: A Game of Human Experience." It is by far the most ambitious piece ever to be produced under her imprint of Flying Fish Press. "Personal Paradigms" presents a truly interactive experience for the reader in the form of a game that is played and the results then recorded in a collaborative book. Presented in a sumptuous cloth covered box, the set includes a letterpress printed game board as well as a multitude of beautiful lasercut game pieces. It is published in an edition of 100 copies.

At 4:00 pm experience earlier Flying Fish Press books first hand. The 15 works held by the Arts of the Book Collection will be available in the lecture hall. Julie Chen will talk informally about her work and answer questions as you get to know the full range of the press' production.

"Personal Paradigms: A Game of Human Experience" will debut at PABA Gallery at 5:00 pm at the opening reception for the exhibition "Julie Chen - Process and Production at FLYING FISH PRESS" (through December 20).
