The Library acquires Film Studies publications from and about France and Japan at an almost exhaustive level, and nearly as comprehensively for Latin America, Italy, Germany and Great Britain. We also have a strong collection on Bollywood (filmmaking in India) and regularly obtain materials on African cinema.

The resources for theater and dance research are particularly noteworthy for the growing collection of videotapes and DVDs from around the world, many of them hard to find and some of them unique in the US. Among our video holdings are the most complete collection on Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker at an American university, a rare video of Japanese butoh performer Kazuo Ohno, and various films of theater and dance in Thailand, India, and elsewhere in Southeast Asia.
