Art + Architecture Library
Route 15 (Wilbur Cross/ Merritt Parkways)
From north: Take Exit 59. Turn right onto the
Litchfield Turnpike, which becomes Whalley Avenue. Proceed south on Whalley
for approximately three miles. Whalley Avenue becomes Elm Street. Turn
right on College Street (at the New Haven Green) and proceed for three
blocks. Turn right on Crown Street and proceed for two blocks. The Art
and Architecture Building is on the left hand side of Crown Street between
College and High Streets. A public parking garage is located next to the
Library.
From south: Take Exit 57. Drive east on Route 34 (Derby
Avenue) for five miles to the fork of Derby Avenue and George Street.
Continue on George Street about 10 blocks to Temple Street. Turn left
on Temple and drive two blocks to Crown Street. Turn right on Crown
Street. The library is on the left hand side of Crown Street. You may
also take Exit 59 as in the directions from the north. A
public parking garage is located next to the library.
Interstate 95
From north: Turn off turnpike at I-91 North Exit
(Hartford, Springfield Exit) and continue for a short distance on I-91
to Trumbull Street Exit 3. Follow Interstate 91 directions below.
From south: Take Downtown New Haven Exit 47. Proceed
to the first exit to the city streets. This brings you onto North Frontage
Road. Turn right on Church Street and proceed for two blocks to Crown
Street. The libraryis on the left hand side of Crown Street, between
College and High Streets. A
public parking garage is located next to the Library.
Interstate 91
From north: Take Exit 3 (Trumbull Street Exit).
Continue to the end of Trumbull Street to the fourth traffic light. Turn
left onto Prospect Street and continue for one block. Prospect Street
becomes College Street at this point, at the Woolsey Hall Rotunda. Continue
for four blocks to Crown Street. Turn right on Crown and proceed for a
block. The library is on the left hand side of Crown Street, between College
and High Streets. A
public parking garage is located next to the Library.

Visual Resources Collection
Consult the above travel directions for the Art + Architecture Library. The Visual Resources Collection is located in Street Hall, at the corner of Chapel Street and High Street. High Street is between College Street and York Street. Enter the building under the High Street bridge, on the side with the metal gate. The Visual Resources Collection is in Room 171, on the first floor. See Parking below.
Parking
Yale does not maintain a visitors parking lot. There is metered parking
on all streets around the campus. On-street parking most convenient to the Art + Architecture
Library can be found on Chapel Street and York Street, and the two most convenient
commercial parking lots are on York Street, mid-block between Crown and Chapel Streets. Other commercial parking lots are located at the corner of Crown and College Streets, on Broadway opposite the Yale Co-op, on Temple Street between Chapel and George Streets, on Church Street
between Grove and Wall Streets, on Grove Street at Whitney Avenue, and on Grove
Street between Temple and Church Streets.
