Procedure
for placing textual material on reserve:
Fill out the attached forms including
author, title, call number. If the materials are from another library please
note that in the call number field. Designate personal copies as such.
In accordance with the 1976 copyright law, we can accept one (1) copy of
an article for reserve without a waiver from the publisher. Because our
space problem has become even more severe, we ask you to limit your lists
to required reading. Choose either Open or Closed Reserve. If you have
a large class with material that all students must have access to, choose
Closed Reserve. If it is a seminar or small class, choose Open Reserve.
Our restricted loan policy should insure that books will be available to
your students. Please let us know as soon as possible if there are books
that need to be ordered for your course reserve.
List processing:
Please note that lists are processed
in order of receipt. We will make every effort to have processed any list
received before classes start. You may use the Priority Forms for five
titles you need most urgently in the first month. Priority processing can
only be provided for titles already in the Art & Architecture Library.
If you have any questions please contact

Procedure
for placing images on reserve:
Beginning with the Fall 2001 semester,
the Arts Library will treat its provision of web-based course support involving
digital images as part of its traditional course reserves system, alongside
course readings, book reserves, etc. We encourage you to contact us concerning
image-based instructional needs.
Pease note that library staff will evaluate requests for support on the
basis of a range of considerations, including resources required, timeliness
of submission, evidence that the work entailed will advance basic curricular
programs of the departments the Arts Library serves. Requests will be discussed
with representatives of the principal academic programs served by the Arts
Library.
To submit a request or have
any questions, please contact Katherine Haskins, Interim Director
of the Visual Resources Collection at 432-2444 or 432-2641 or by
e-mail,
katherine.haskins@yale.edu.
