  • Recalls may be placed on non-reserve books which are out on loan to other patrons.
  • When books are not on the shelf or Orbis shows them as 'missing' or 'billed' click on Place Requests and select Request Staff Search or Delivery from the drop down menu. If a second window opens fill in the information about the book and submit the request.

Loan Restrictions

  • 24-hour and 3-day Books may be borrowed at any time of day. 24-hour reserve books are due within 24 hours as shown on the due slip. 3-day reserve books are due at any time within 3 days. Only faculty and students may borrow reserve materials. You may use Self-Check Out to charge reserve books but they cannot be renewed. Reserve items can not be requested through Place Requests.
  • Non-reserve Books may be renewed, unless requested by another reader, by logging on to Place Requests in Orbis and selecting Renew from the drop down menu.

Date Due Slips

A printed slip, showing the date and time when the book is due and the barcode of the book is placed in the back of each book. The guards will check this slip when you leave the library.  If you renew a book, you will need to get a new due date slip if you bring the book in to the library and expect to take it out the door again.

Please note the due date (and time, when applicable). It is the responsibility of the borrower check the date on this slip, and to return borrowed materials on time.
