GIVING TO THE BEINECKE LIBRARY Donations The rich and diverse Beinecke collections, and indeed the building that holds them, bring to fruition the thought and effort of generations of loyal alumni, scholars, and friends of the University. Donations of collections or single items that directly support or complement the Beinecke Collections should be brought to the attention of the appropriate curator. If you are uncertain which curator is most appropriate, contact the Public Services Department. Gifts of support for Library projects and development priorities are coordinated through the office of the Director of Library Development and Communications, Amanda Patrick. The Yale Library Associates Founded in 1930 by an eminent group of bibliophiles, the Yale Library Associates provide an active forum for the enhancement of book and manuscript collecting at Yale. Perhaps the oldest friends-of-the-library group in the country, the Associates are dedicated to the support of the University Library, through their interest in the Library's activities and their participation in its acquisition program. Members are invited to lectures, exhibitions, openings, receptions, and symposia held throughout the year affording members an opportunity to learn about diverse aspects of the Library and to share their own interests with others. Twice yearly, each Associate also receives Nota Bene, the newsletter of the Yale University Library, and the Yale University Library Gazette, containing informative articles about the Yale collections and news of gifts and purchases. The annual dues are $50 for individuals or couples, $100 for patrons, and $25 for students. A Gazette subscription is $20 per annum without membership benefits. To supplement income from dues, the Associates established two funds. The Endowment Fund, founded in 1985, works in perpetuity to expand and enrich Yale’s library collections. In honor of their 75th anniversary, the Associates created the Celebration Fund, which gives much-needed support for cataloguing and preserving the collections and providing worldwide access to some of Yale’s great riches through digitization.
