Dear Catalog Department staff members,
As you are probably aware, the backlog of materials awaiting processing
in Preparations is pretty large and we are looking for ways to make
the process as efficient as possible. Preparations and Preservation
staff met earlier today and have requested that I ask you to help them
in a couple of ways.
1) Make sure that any location riders/flags (for Reference, CCL, etc.)
are visible when you put a book on the Preparations truck. These flags
are used to sort priority categories, so if they are not visible or
are missing, the item may not receive priority treatment.
2) Hand deliver all Rush and Rush/Requester items to a member of the
Preparations Staff. It is not sufficient to place them on a truck loaded
with regular work. This "special delivery" will help Preparations
keep its commitment to Access Services for prompt, same-day processing.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Joan
