We have just discovered that when you edit a vernacular language field
in Voyager ... even to just change a tag number, the vernacular information
is corrupted. If you need to edit a vernacular language field in any
way, you must go back to RLIN and then download the record.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

[NOTE: This memo refers to Voyager prior to version 5.0. Although vernacular fields can now be edited in Voyager 5.0, the structure of the record makes it too easy to unlink romanized/vernacular fields by accident. Currently, RLIN will not accept records exported from Orbis if non-roman fields are in the record. Our current policy continues to restrict editing of vernacular fields to RLIN, after which the updated RLIN record should be downloaded to Orbis again.]
