What is Heading Validation?

• making sure that a heading in a bibliographic record matches the heading in an authority record

• making sure that you follow any treatment decisions recorded in a series authority record (analysis, tracing, & classification decisions)

• validation makes searching easier for patrons and staff … if all records use the same form of heading, you only need one search to find them!
