1. OCLC NACO Training
We are almost finished transitioning our NACO work from RLIN to OCLC.
Completed tasks:
-NELINET training conducted by Margaret Lourie (Oct. 19)
-NELINET training manual mounted in password-protected directory
-Three voluntary "practice sessions" offered by Manon
-Local documentation updated (further updates will be needed once RLIN goes away completely)
-Constant Data record for creating SARs distributed
-Hebraica Funnel Project coordinator contacted (Arabic Funnel coordinator will be contacted once Abdul switches to OCLC for his bib record creation)
-LC contacted
-Deadline set for clearing our RLIN save file (Dec. 1)
Tasks still to do:
-Conduct make-up training (Nov. 13) and offer seats as refresher for those who have already had the training
-Conduct another practice session or two (in SML rather than SCML and maybe include demo on keymapping or another advanced topic at the beginning)
-Distribute local keymapping file for diacritics
-Revise NELINET training manual (e.g. now export in Unicode not MARC-8)
-Complain to OCLC about: 1) SAR workform doesn't have MOC in 64X fields; 2) main entry included in 670 when using authority record generator.
