RE: USE OF INITIALS IN THE COPY HOLDINGS STATEMENT NOTES

Based upon our discussion of Tuesday, we propose that Team Leaders, at their discretion, have staff identify their work on Orbis through the use of the Copy Holdings Statement NOTES field with the Orbis Catalog Identification Code and the staff member's initials. We recommend the following:
team and/or staff member, replace the original initials with those of the team/staff member initiating the corrections.
We do want to emphasize that even though some problem situations may have to be resolved by a specific team and team member, the use of initials should not be a excuse for not correcting errors that you may encounter in cataloging or data base maintenance activities. Use the following form(s) in the Copy Holdings Statment NOTES field:
