RE: MULTI-MEDIA WORKS

Beginning immediately, we can start processing multi-media items. Under an arrangement with Cross Campus, the works that come to us for cataloging and processing will have the Orbis location code of SML. The media (discs, tapes, etc.) associated with the work will be part of the complete record and not a separate catalog record. If there is evidence of particular requirements for using the non-book items such as type of computer, sound system, etc. specify those requirements on the holdings record in a universal message (i.e. um=Runs on Mac)

The entire work is to be kept together when you finish cataloging and is to be charged to CCL. CCL has accepted responsibility for creating item records for the media item(s) and for forwarding the book to Preparations for processing.
