Re: Catalog records for publications in Cyrillic script

Date: 2-21-80

In February 1980, the Slavic and East European Division will begin cataloging all Cyrillic script publications in fully romanized form for all locations. In this we will follow present LC practice, using LC's MARC records when available or inputting our own records into the RLIN dta base in romanized form when MARC records are not available.

Catalogers will  add to the cards and to the data base record a note reading e.g. "Russian in Cyrillic script."  "Macedonian in Cyrillic script" etc.
