Effective March 6, 2008, Hebraica/Judaica cataloging will implement the new Yale Core standard with the following exceptions:
Continue checking geographic cutters and make sure that they are consistent with current Yale shelf-list (e.g., we should continue to keep books on Jews in Poland separated on the shelf from books on those on Jews in Puerto Rico, even though other libraries may be assigning identical geographic cutters)
Continue supplying language codes in 041 field and language notes in 546 field.
Continue supplying 534 original publication data for reprints and facsimiles
Continue recording individual ISBNs for multivolume sets.
Clarifications of Yale Core
Continue to fix dates in 260s (e.g., if missing "c" for copyright date)
Continue to indicate presence of illustrations if not already there
Continue to correct 504 notes as needed (but don't add field if not already there)
