Pre-1800 vs. Post-1800 Authors
For a pre-1800 author, base the heading on the form of name found in reference sources issued in the person's language or country of residence or activity.  For a post-1800 author, base the heading on the form of name that appears predominantly on the chief source of works by the person issued in his or her own language.
