Levels of Access for Alumni
Level I (retrieval privileges)
Level I provides a card for retrieval privileges, which does not include borrowing privileges.
Level I grants access to Sterling Memorial
Library & Bass Library after 6pm. See the library hours for details.
Level I enables you to request library materials for
in-building use.
Use “Place Requests” to retrieve materials and have them
delivered to the circulation desk of the selected Yale University Library.
Level II (stacks privileges)
Level II provides a card for stacks privileges, which does not include borrowing privileges but grants access to the Sterling Memorial Library stack tower
Level II grants access to Sterling Memorial
Library & Bass Library after 6pm. See
the library hours for details.
Level II (card for stacks privileges) privileges are granted on an occasional basis not to exceed 30 days each year. Beyond that limit fees of $10 per day or $27 per month will be charged.
Level III (stacks and borrowing privileges)
Level III provides a card for stacks borrowing privileges. (including bookstacks that are restricted) the Sterling Memorial Library stack tower
Maximum Number of Loans: 50
Level III grants access to Sterling Memorial
Library & Bass Library after 6p, including libraries that require swipe access. For more details see library hours for details.
Yale may purchase stack access and
borrowing
privileges for a fee of $15.00 per month or $150.00 per year
