Eli Express is a delivery service operating among most of Yale's libraries. It allows library readers to request that books be delivered from any of Yale's participating libraries to the Yale library of their choice.

In Orbis, you can request Eli Express delivery of library materials directly from the catalog. How? Just search for the item you need, click on Place Requests, and follow the instructions. No more cutting and pasting from the catalog!

*The Arts Library will accept returns and renewals of material from other participating libraries, and readers may place requests for material from other participating libraries at the Arts Library. Please note, however, that material from the Arts Library circulates for one day and is therefore is not eligible for this service.

**Eli Express may not be used to transfer materials between Sterling Memorial Library, Bass Library and the Music Library.

Eligible Material
Only circulating books are eligible. Non-circulating books, journals, and reserve material are not eligible.

Delivery Requests
Books will be retrieved from the owning Yale library and delivered within 48 hours to a participating pick-up library of the reader's choice, Monday through Friday. NOTE: Books will not be paged from and held at the same library.

Renewal/Returns
Books can be renewed at and returned to any of the participating libraries at any time. Loan periods for renewals are determined by the holding library. Special loans may be renewed only by presenting the special loan item at the service point where the loan was approved.
