Academic Search (EBSCOhost) Export to Refworks

After doing a search:

  1. From the results list add the citations you want to export by clicking "Add".
  2. Notice now that the text at the top has changed from "Folder is empty" to "Folder has items." Click on
    "Folder has items."

  3. You will now be on the Folder List page. Choose the "Save to Disk" option.
  4. Select the "Bibliographic Manager" tab.

  5. Choose "Direct Export to RefWorks".
  6. Click on "Save".

Alternative

If for any reason the direct export fails, you may elect to save your citations to a file and later import them into Refworks.

  1. Follow steps 1-4. above.
  2. Choose "Citations in a format that can be uploaded to bibliographic management software."
  3. A new browser window will launch. The exact steps to follow will vary slightly depending on the browser you use. In IE, select File and Save as. Save the file to the temp directory. Change the file format to text.
  4. Launch RefWorks and select References/Import. Specify the following settings:
    Import filter:/Data source: EBSCOhost
    Database: Academic Search Elite
