A partnership of research, public and educational institutions who share a common integrated library system including a centrally managed hardware platform (the CARL system) which is linked to other separate systems throughout the Alliance, from which members can view catalogs and share resources. Consortial activities include cooperative database distribution, document delivery, collection development, education and training programs, and financial benefits of joint purchasing and licensing agreements.
