Brief description
The "Bibliothèque Interuniversitaire de la Communauté française de Belgique" (BICfB) is a non-profit-making organization created in May 2000 under the aegis of the Conseil des Recteurs des universités francophones de Belgique (CRef). This NPO aims at “promoting, coordinating and developing a joint policy between university libraries in the field of scientific documentation”. Financed jointly by the French Community of Belgium and the universities, BICfB made possible the university libraries to maintain and increase the offer in quality electronic resources and to guarantee their access to all the users (professors, researchers and students) of the French Community of Belgium, whatever the size of their institution. The negotiation of electronic resources in consortium and the launching of projects also developed a new cohesion between the teams of the institutions’ members of BICfB
