Brief description

EPIC is a non-profit consortium with a common interest to enhance access to e-resources for all New Zealanders and to negotiate and facilitate access to quality e-resources for library and information organizations and their customers. EPIC has negotiated all of country licences with EBSCO and Gale. Every person in New Zealand will be able to access the electronic resources via a New Zealand Library. Legal structure

Other Self Funded by Member Libraries. National Library is the Lead agency and hosts the EPIC Office. Ministry of Education has provided funding for all NZ schools for the first year.

171 in all, including Academic, Public, Special, School, and Multi (this comprises 94% of NZ's tertiary libraries, 91.3% of NZ's public libraries, 32.3% of NZ's special libraries, and all registered NZ schools are eligible to participate.
