Brief description

The Alberta Library (TAL) was incorporated in 1997 and is governed by a Board of Directors. It is a not-for-profit library consortium that grew out of the collective vision of all types of libraries across Alberta. Through TAL, the library membership works together on projects to promote and facilitate resource sharing, continuing education and training initiatives, and library advocacy. Their goal in working collaboratively is to increase and improve access to information resources for all Albertans. TAL's membership is comprised of over 250 public, post-secondary, special, government and regional libraries in Alberta. TAL also contracts and partners with government and private organizations to provide support to projects that promote the strategies set out in its business plan.
