Daniel MacEachron '75
Dan MacEachron is chief operating officer of Rockefeller Group Development Corporation. As such, he oversees the company’s development projects and leasing in the New York City area, as well as its national Design & Construction, Asset Services, and Property Management Groups.
Dan joined The Rockefeller Group in March 2012 after working for more than twenty years at the private real estate developer Hines (from 1981 to 1987, and again from 1997 until early 2012). Since 2006, he had been responsible for establishing the first Hines office in India. From 1997 to 2005, Dan led the formation and management of National Office Partners, the successful partnership between Hines and the California Public Employees’ Retirement System.
In addition to Hines, Dan previously worked at The Yarmouth Group (where he was president and CEO), BPT Properties (a venture of Bechtel Investments, Inc. and Park Tower Realty), and First Boston Corporation. He earned a BA from Yale in 1975 (majoring in English), and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1981.
He has served as president of the Board of Governors of the American Embassy School in New Delhi, India, and was appointed by the United States Ambassador to India to the board of the United States-India Educational Foundation, which coordinates the Fulbright program initiatives in India.
Dan is also a book and manuscript collector who focuses on the novelist and English Royal Navy officer Captain Frederick Marryat (d. 1848), and an extended circle of his family, friends, and contemporaries.
Dan is married to Devon MacEachron, and the couple has two children: Sarah (Barnard College Class of 2014), and Phillip (Yale College Class of 2015).
