William H. Wright II '82
Mr. Wright retired in the autumn of 2010 as a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley where he began his career in 1982. Most recently he was Director of Community Development Advocacy and Grants with respect to the Firms Community Reinvestment Act initiatives. During Mr. Wright's career, he had been Global Head of Mobility and the Head of the Corporate Finance Execution Group of the Banking Department where he was a team leader responsible for leading and coordinating client teams in the execution of complex equity and debt issuances for multinational corporations. He served for two years as the Worldwide Director of the Firm's Analyst Program and he has served as a member of the Investment Banking Division and Private Wealth Management Operating Committees. Mr. Wright was also a Trustee of the Morgan Stanley Foundation. Mr. Wright is Senior Warden of St. Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Episcopal Mission Society and the Board of Managers of Episcopal Social Services, Chairman of the Board of the Yale Alumni Fund and served as a board member of Episcopal Charities. Mr. Wright also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Josiah Macy Foundation and is a member of the Board and Executive Committee of Continuum Health Partners and its four member institutions, St. Luke's Roosevelt, Beth Israel, Long Island College and New York Eye and Ear Hospitals. Mr. Wright is also a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He became a trustee of the Berkeley Divinity School at Yale in January 2006. Mr. Wright is also a trustee of the New York City Ballet, the Historic Hudson Valley, the Municipal Art Society and the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton. He received a BA from Yale in 1982 and an MBA from The Darden School of the University of Virginia in 1987. In 2008, Mr. Wright was awarded the Yale Medal for distinguished service to the University.
